What is IceCast?

Icecast is a streaming media project released as free software maintained by the Xiph.org Foundation. It also refers specifically to the server program which is part of the project. Icecast was created in December 1998/January 1999 to provide an open source audio streaming server that anyone could modify, use, and tinker with. Version 2 was started in 2001, a ground-up rewrite aimed at multi-format support and scalability. It is also set up with multiple mount points(/live, /autodj and /stream) which enables a seamless transition between live broadcasts and your Auto DJ.

What is Centova Cast v3

Custom integration into any website is easy with the premade widgets that come with every CentovaCast v3 IceCast v2 Server. CentovaCast v3 server widgets can be copied and pasted into a website with very little coding knowledge.

You can now set up each staff member or DJ with their own username and password to your CentovaCast v3 Control Panel. This allows you to set up individual staff accounts and control which areas they have access to inside the CentovaCast v3 Control Panel. There are different levels of access you can grant to your staff; Start and stop the Auto DJ, Start and stop the stream, Manage playlist settings, Access Media Library, Manage media files, Veiw statistics, View listeners and View logs.
