What is Shoutcast v2?

SHOUTcast v2 is newest version of the SHOUTcast cross-platform proprietary software used for streaming media accross the Internet. Nullsoft has updated SHOUTcast to SHOUTcast v2 to allow enhanced features and access to the new YP2 system. It is still supported by all major media players such as Windows Media Player, Itunes, Winamp, QuickTime and RealPlayer. There are also many mobile applications available that will allow your listeners to tune in from cellphones, tablet PCs and other mobile devices. It is not required for the listener to make any changes to listen to SHOUTcast v2 servers. They can still connect using the same devices they used to connect to SHOUTcast v1 servers.
